This has been so annoying. I can’t log in half the time, and when I try to reset my password, the email either doesn’t show up at all or randomly lands in my inbox hours later. It’s just waaaay more hassle than it should be

I tried booking a hotel, but the payment page just kept spinning for ages and then failed. I checked with my bank and they said everything was fine on their end. I tried again, but then I just started worrying I might get charged twice. Customer service took a while to respond and weren’t that helpful. It really put me off using Secret Escapes again.

The room just felt dirty... not really what I was expecting. I couldn’t fully relax because it seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned very well!

I asked for twin beds before I booked, I think it was a few days before, or maybe the week before, and was told it had been noted. When we got to the hotel, they had no idea about it. Secret Escapes just pushed the blame onto the hotel, which was really frustrating. No one actually helped sort it out after that.

I tried using Secret Escapes it got annoying fast. At first glance the site looks nice. Clean enough. Kind of promising. But then actually trying to move around it… different story.

The filters kept disappearing or resetting, which drove me mad. I’d check something, go back, and somehow I was at the start again. Dates, prices, rooms. Too many clicks for every little thing.

After about 20 minutes I still hadn’t really found what I was looking for. Just felt like I was going in circles. Gave up in the end and booked through another site

The emails are a lot. Like, way too many every single day. I signed up expecting updates here and there, but this feels constant. Kind of overwhelming.

Booked through Secret Escapes because their map made it look like the hotel was right near the area we wanted to stay in. Spoiler: it absolutely was not. We got there and realized we were a long taxi ride away, which was a fun little bonus expense nobody asked for. Customer service basically shrugged and said the address was on the booking, which is technically true, so congrats to them on that achievement. The location info was still really misleading, and it ended up being annoying and costing us extra money. Definitely won’t be trusting their maps again.

Booked because it looked like a good deal. Then extra fees popped up at checkout and even later in the booking details. Felt a bit sneaky. Not as cheap as advertised. I won’t use Secret Escapes again.

I’m not gonna lie, the app is annoying to use. Every time I try to check my bookings, it crashes, which is kind of the main thing I need it for. I’ll open it, think it’s loading, and then... nope, back to the home screen. Really hope this gets fixed soon

At first the prices seemed good, and I really wanted it to work out, but I just didn’t feel confident enough to book. The room just wasn’t clean at all. There was dust around, and the sheets had stains on them, which made me really uncomfortable. I’m not expecting anything fancy, but a clean room and fresh bedding feel like the bare minimum any guest should be able to count on
